Night life of Nepal, especially Kathmandu valley has been affected when Bamdev Gautam became home minister of Nepal. Mr. Gautam targeted disco, dance restaurants, cabin restaurants, pubs and other entertainment things in Kathmandu Valley. According to him, these things should be closed by 11 pm in Kathmandu, 10 pm in Patan and Bhaktapur 9 pm.
Normally, night life in Kathmandu starts from 9-10 pm. But at last few days, Police force has forced to shut down the restaurants before 11 pm. Police has arrested some disco, restaurant owners with customers. Home Minister also announced that he will shut down all the dance restaurants where Nude dance are performed. But it is also said that police force are preserving this type of restaurant because they get some income from them. Mr. Gautam has ordered police force also to close massage centers. It is said that sexual abuse takes place there on the tag of massage center. He also claims that these discos, dance restaurant, cabins, pubs and other entertaining spots are the source of crime and sexual abuse.
People are unhappy because many people would be unemployed. Dancers, waiters and other restaurant workers will certainly be unemployed and crime may increase. Government hasn't said to give alternate job to them. Some people analyze that tourism industry also will be affected due to this activity.
