Nigerian Islamist Radicals Threaten Fellow Muslims With Death For Opposing Sharia Law
Even being a Muslim doesn't save you from being a target by Muslim extremists and the sooner moderate Muslims realize this and start doing something about their evil cousins we are all going to be in major trouble.

The Boko Haram, a Nigerian extremist group, has been terrorizing the northern part of the country for a while now and they don't plan on stopping any time soon. Allegedly responsible for many killings and attacks in the Muslim north, including a huge prison break, the sect plastered posters in Maiduguri threatening anyone who opposes the implementation of Sharia law, which is their main goal. Not surprising coming from a group whose name, in English, means "Western education is sacrilege." Right, because, of course, the Qu'ran says so.
The posters which had the name of their new leader Imam Abubakar Shekau written on them (since their previous leader, Mohammad Yusuf, was killed), also sported the Al Qaeda in the Islamic Mahgreb logo, which is a picture of a Qu'ran with Kalashnikov rifles and a flag.
The message warned the public against assisting the police or going near soldiers guarding the town at night. The message also acknowledged a recent reward offered for information leading to the arrest of suspected sect members. “Any Muslim that goes against the establishment of Sharia will be attacked and killed,’’ the message read. The poster said it was from Shekau on behalf of “The Group of the People of Sunnah, Call and Jihad.’’
Boko Haram doesn't just want Sharia law they want, like al Shabaab in Somalia, the ultra strict version, which really means they make up most of it as they go along, picking and choosing what they believe to be un-Islamic, whether it is or not. Nigeria which is half Muslim and half Christian (in the south) is still governed by secular states in spite of the fact that 12 of them in the north have Sharia law.
The police, who have been battling the group, started removing the posters and police commissioner Mohammed Abubakar said
“These publications and messages on Boko Haram activities are seditious and could jeopardize our investigations into the four-month serial attacks and killings in the state.’’
Boko Haram have been targeting police stations and homes and managed to break out 700 prisoners this past September, and it doesn't seem they are going away until they accomplish their goal. We must continue to fight these radicals to ensure that our way of life remains the way we want it.
