NGOs- changing personalities and lives - 2

POLITICS. .

Thanks, everybody who has read the article and have showen intrest.Let us continue the process, most of the readers have expressed the desire for strict check or agency to asses the performence of NGO. Do you thing that really matters?

Recently a judge of the Supremcourt has asked the government to declare bribery official so that ordinary person should know from the very first step that to get work done from government office means bribe this amount to the babus.

Well , my friends NGO sector is a path of giving.Giving what? Giving Hope, assurence, confidence among those who feels alone. Number of NGO's working at the ground level is small but yes something is better then nothing.Do you think government is not aware of all this? They know each and every activity.See at present a sweepar at a bus stand or in government office if is a regular one minimum salary in hand is about Rs 12 000 or more but have you ever try to ask social worker or professional what salary he/she is getting? As you know patrol price is increased by 2rs in India recently, price of packaged milk immidiatly increased by one rupee. Now every thing will be more expensive but person working in this NGO sector will get no hike in salary .Yes ,I know you will say change the job join BPO or KPO orHospitality or other lucrative sectors.Do you think that would be a solution?

Today ,I am working in NGO why?Because this is the only work which I can do.I had worked in Mahendra and mahendra jeeps being marketing executive ,later in a news paper as a reporter.Had tried my hand in business.I started my own medical store then left my shop and joined an English news paper being marketing executive ,then call-center then being trainer at Panchkula and at last NGO.

I will explain about my different experiences later.I joined this ngo job not because I was aware of my interest but just by chance.I was working in an English daily as marketing executive they were paying 4300rs /month.I worked for 1 month.Soon they asked me to bring my own motorcycle for field work , for which they were not going to pay i.e.no petrol expense. I failed to arrange bike in time ,they kicked me out ,I was staying at Chandigarh.Interviews were in my routine .I was looking for a job and they were looking for manpower . I got the job.I was not aware of the nigotiations for salary with H.R. and all.Later during our induction I came to know that every person has different pay scale for the same work.It was just because of nigotiations at the time of selection.I failed to negotiate so got low salary.

Our seniors have told us that we are social workers we are doing national service. We are building new India by empowering underprivilaged. All were agree with the words also I.But this difference in salary created dissatisfection in my heart. But I was having no option but to continue the job .On my joining I met three trainers from Jammu and Kashmir and one from Uttranchal.Other person joined with me was from Faridkot ,Panjab. When I went in the class I met about 200 student from poor families. All were there to learn and later on earn livelihood. We worked hard most of us have done our duty with dedication and those students who were intrested in jobs got chance to enter in job sector.

As I was not satisfied with salary I started looking other options like collage etc.During that time I found that NGO is the only field for which I am born. As I was looking for other options I start camparison of my present job with the ones I was aspiring to join.I realised that the freedom of expression and of implimentation and experiment which I was enjoying here in NGO was absent in collages. I am a free bird.It is not possible for me to teach bookish things only .Yes salary was low but chances to learn were great. I choose the later one .

I am here to discuss about NGOs ,it was just my background for all of you so that while reading my articles you should know that I am writing realities of the NGO world. Sorry but it is 1 a.m. in India so time to sleep will continue tomorrow. Thanks .Good night.
