New Twist in Raymond Dais Case – Doctor Claims Davis Meant to Assassinate Him
In yet another twist to the Raymond Davis case, a doctor in Lahore has claimed that Raymond Davis had come to Lahore to assassinate him. Dr. Muhammd Adnan Bhutta said so in a press conference held at the Lahore Press Club, Sunday (February 20, 2011).

The doctor claimed that he had sued ex American President George W. Bush for $165 trillion because, during Bush’s reign, he had been detained and subject to horrible treatment in the US on account of being wrongly suspected of involvement in the 9/11 attacks on New York’s World Trade Center. Dr. Bhutta told media that while he was I US, he had been followed a number of times. Due to the consequent insecurity he felt for being in US, he returned to Pakistan. Now, he thinks, that Davis had been sent by America to assassinate him in Pakistan.
Dr. Bhutta also said in the press conference that he felt that he was being stalked on January 27, the day when Davis shot dead two motorbike riders following his (Davis’s) car, in Lahore while he was going to meet his car’s mechanic. That is why, says Dr. Bhutta, the shooting incident happened in front of that mechanic’s shop.
Since it happened on January 27, 2011, the incident involving Raymond Davis has occupied the front page of newspapers and the burning news in electronic media. Davis has been called a CIA agent in some papers and the two killed by him were also variously called as thieves and intelligent agents stalking Davis. Currently, Davis is in jail, waiting for his trial or, as some suspect, release.
