My Thoughts on Eid Al Fitr: (Day 1)
Today is the first day of Eid Al Fitr as celebrated by most Arab and Muslim countries, which is the day Muslims mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan. This Eid is announced upon the sighting of the next lunar month's (Shawwal)crescent. And as Al Mutanabbi’s poem goes: Eid, in what status have you returned, Oh Eid!!!

Seriously now, in what status has Eid returned? Let me go over news from around the world happening or being talked about on the first day of Eid…
1. Back in July, Camellia Zakher, a Coptics Christian Egyptian lady, and the wife of a Coptic Priest, went missing only to spark new claims by the Muslim community that she has converted to Isalm, after which she was held –uptill today-against her will by the Coptic Church.
“Photographs of Zakhir wearing a traditional Muslim headscarf appeared in Egyptian newspapers, fuelling both sides' accounts of what happened to her. “ Al-Jazeera English.
Now the hilarious justification for this is one explaining that she is being held not because she converted to Islam, but due to some domestic problems. I mean, Woow… I don’t know about those people, but I have never heard of anyone being held prisoner in a church due to domestic problems before… Couldn’t they have at least worked hard to come up with some other logical explanation for her disappearance?
Oh yes; as if Egypt needs more tension between Muslims and Coptics… People seriously need to have greater tolerance for each other no matter what beliefs, faith, or rout of life they are taking.
Now let’s move on the Eid news #2 for the day:
2. Obviously the hateful Pastor Reverend Terry Jones has decided to refrain from burning copies of Quran on the anniversary of 9/11. The pastor had not only shown disrespect for Muslims through his “brilliant” idea of Quran burning, but also the families of those who lost their lives on that day…
Revered Jones says he had decided not to do it because the man behind of Ground Zero Islamic Centre had agreed to change its location, while according to Al-Jazeera News Channel, the man in concern had reported that no such deal was made.
Now you see, as sad as this kind of news is, it actually somehow gives me hope for humanity on the first day of Eid, as it tells me that Insanity lives on, therefore, We (Humans) are still alive and kicking… Wohooooo.
To be continued…
