My Responsibility as an Author
I remember when the professor was saying:” the tool you are holding is not a pen but a sword and gun, hold it carefully. Before writing any sentence see what is the advantage and impact of it on people. And try to offer at least one solution for the subject matter you bring up…”

Therefore, whenever I intend to write any articles, feel it necessary to be careful about all above points before touching the pen or keyboard.
Still a very sincere and respectful commenter had criticized some points in one of my articles (Pakistan flood adds violence against women). I am very much grateful to those who make me careful about my flaws and deficiencies in writing, I welcome and appreciate all readers’ perspectives.
But still I would like to clarify some points about that analysis:
- Western women face more violence but they do not project it. I agree there are lesser such cases in East, which is not normal and common, that is why it comes as part of report and news. Beside pointing out others’ flaws and weaknesses, we need to find our own societies’ flaws and problems, clarify it that the whole nation and region is not compatible even with these rare cases of violence and we do condemn it. But if we don’t bring out or avoid talking about it, doesn’t mean no one will find them out. Surely others will start narrating it with blind eyes and harsh manners that may hurt the whole nation. As they have always used to find out small points and reproach the whole culture, custom and religion of a nation.
- I mostly find that the majority of articles about “violence against women” end with disappointment and with no positive conclusion, where the authors too make an effort to leave the readers in a desert, thinking, screaming and crying.
I agree, our job does not end just in writing and projecting such cases. We must follow and figure out the whole case and find out who have had the responsibilities and how they have worked; what will be the solution and the way of removing of those issues.
According to me this story doesn’t show only the unreliability of governmental and nongovernmental officials in this land, but the whole humans from different regions and societies who claim of humanity and gathered to help humans in these situations.
However there are many centers, which noted these problems and going to do something to stop such violent behaviors. We hope it happens as expected, inshallah.
- I regret seeing this article (Pakistan flood adds violence against women) becoming popular soon and getting remarkable vote, but my next article (Pakistan flood adds violence against women (2)), in which I researched and tried to find out a solution to reduce most of readers’ concerns, was waiting in upcoming section and was not peeped by the readers for long time. When the readers are fond of reading stories about violence, but not interested in knowing the result and solution of those stories, we cant do anything about it! For we have done our jobs truthfully. Unfortunately even those who felt concerned about the event, didn’t feel it necessary to view the next piece of the story; instead started criticizing before reading the whole story. I although, value all readers points of views whether advice or criticism, still I request them (who didn’t view my second article and found my first article somehow hopeless and unjust) to view my next article then comment or re-comment (if they really know any better solutions) Because I believe all readers comments and views are constructive and can be supportive in ongoing events.
We don’t know and can’t imagine, when and whose view and advice may perhaps protect and construct any destitute human’s life and future.
Thus do not hesitate to advice / criticize or simply present your views about issues and problems presented by the authors.
Thanks a lot,
Tulips
