Mugabe: Foreign Investment In Zimbabwe Will Be A Partnership
Here we go again. Mugabe on the subject of independence and sovereignty. And, as usual, Mugabe makes all manner of provisions and caveats as he seeks to mislead the public and the international investor into ZANU PF control.
Mugabe spews rhetoric whenever he can - and will urge peace within the country whilst his party and its various organs will continue with their destructive rule.
"Robert Mugabe on Monday delivered yet another blow on the economic revival chances when he said, Zimbabwe is willing to have foreign investors in the country to invest and develop the country but only as "partners".
Mugabe was speaking at the burial of Mrs Sunny Ntombiyelanga Takawira, the late wife of the late veteran nationalist Leopold Takawira at the national heroes acre in the capital Harare.
Mugabe is known for making most of the crucial policy aggression over a dead body."

Mugabe uses situations like funerals to stir up the hype and hoodwink the masses into believing his lies.
Mugabe has stated that foreign investors are welcome in Zimbabwe but that they cannot own a shareholder's majority, and that the investment must be as a partner in any business only.
Now given that most of the international investors have pulled out of Zimbabwe over the last ten years, not very many of them would be interested in returning if Mugabe is going to lay down stipulations like this.
"We need (outsiders) but only to the extent that they are partners who would partner us to exploit the country's resources for the development of the country," Mugabe told mourners at the national shrine.
"As is the case with every nation in the world the interests of the nation comes first and Zimbabweans must be prepared to defend those interests. The country's sovereignty is not negotiable, its non negotiable."
Mugabe bangs on about independence and sovereignty at every opportunity - masking the real cause of the problems in Zimbabwe and politicising the solution. At this rate there will be no external investors in Zimbabwe - and Mugabe will then point an accusatory finger at the West because he doesn't know who else to blame.
And all he has to do is look in the mirror.
"The unity of our people remains important. It is indeed paramount in all our endeavours. Equally peace, the peace of our country must continue to prevail in-order to ensure that development will occur uninterrupted," Mugabe said.
"Let us honour our heroes by ensuring that each one of us wherever we are promote unity, harmony and peace in our country as indeed also promote the ideal of the sovereignty of our nation."
Mugabe encouraging peace? When his party go about beating up on people on an ad hoc basis? This is an oxymoron!
Any potential investor should be well versed on the manner in which Mugabe views their participation. If he had his own way, any foreign investment would have ZANU PF majority partnership – even if those party people have got no experience in the relevant sector they would represent.
In Zimbabwe, many parastatals are headed by former armed forces members or retired police officers - with absolutely no experience or interest in what they are supposed to do. Their appointments are political - just like the idea that foreign investment will only be considered in a partnership role.
Mugabe not only wants his cake, but he will eat it as well.
