Mugabe Collapses Again

POLITICS. .

"Zimbabwe's 87 year old President, Robert Mugabe, is reported to have collapsed once again at his Borrowdale mansion in Harare Tuesday evening according to the Zimbabwe Mail website.

The ZANU PF leader collapsed before he went to bed but "recovered after a routine work carried out by his medical team of experts and this morning he was said to be feeling a lot better".

The First Family had just finished an evening prayer conducted by a well known senior Harare Cleric who is close to the family and the First Lady Grace Mugabe who is also reported to be not feeling well, went to bed while the President took some time going through late night routine briefings with his aides.

Around 10:30pm, President Mugabe’s medical team was called in a rush from the Guest House where they now live.

Presidential Affairs Minister Didymus Mutasa and his wife Gertrude arrived 30 minutes later. Gertrude, a retired army colonel and former Deputy Director in the Army medical Corps is the family nurse and soon after her arrival she took the responsibility of comforting the sobbing First Lady up until late this morning.

As part of the routine process in the last few months, an order was sent to Air Zimbabwe, the State national carrier to prepare for an emergency flight to Singapore for the President’s further treatment."

Does Mugabe not trust the medical sector in Zimbabwe? Are the specialists and doctors in Zimbabwe not able to deal with the medical problems he is experiencing?

I find it quite insulting that the ZANU PF leader should shun Zimbabwean care, and that the 'grounded' Air Zimbabwe aircraft is on standby to whisk him away to Singapore - the man just worries about himself and nobody else...

Who is paying for the jaunts to Singapore? The Zimbabwean taxpayer, and there aren't too many of them. At the very least, there should be someone in South Africa that can deal with Mugabe's health problems, but he is happier being flown to Singapore.

"However, his medical team did a splendid job overnight and this morning he was reported to be feeling fine but he has held back on some State duties.

In April it was reported that Mugabe collapsed four times at his mansion and his family members, including his wife wept uncontrollably as they feared for the worse. His medical team is said to have played a very crucial role in resuscitating the 87 year old.

At the recent SADC Troika summit in Zambia, Mugabe needed the use of a golf cart to travel to and from his hotel room. He was accompanied on the trip by a team of some 60 security and medical aides. Those who managed to get close to Mugabe said his legs were swollen, suggesting heart or blood pressure problems.

Mugabe has travelled to Singapore five times since December to undergo medical treatment there."

Mugabe is an egoist who is only concerned with his own health and comfort. "To hell" with the Zimbabwean population who live in abject poverty, a lack of running water, rolling electrical blackouts and no money...

Mugabe maintains that he is a fit person and claims that he will live beyond 100 years of age.

Just imagine that... another thirteen years of chaos...

"President Robert Mugabe, facing calls to quit due to old age, has told his critics that he may be around longer, much longer.

South African President Jacob Zuma’s special envoys mediating between Zimbabwe’s ruling coalition parties this week expressed concerns about the 87-year-old veteran leader’s health after he made five trips to Asia since last December.

But Mugabe used an interview with the Southern Times newspaper - a joint venture between Zimbabwe and Namibia - to declare that he was in robust health.

Mugabe said he had a strict exercise regime honed during his 11 years of detention during the liberation struggle.

Using only bodyweight exercises, Mugabe says he has set his targets on living to the ripe age of 100 years.

"I fall sick when I don’t exercise," Mugabe said. "Exercise develops calcium. Although I take calcium (supplements) in addition for the bones, I exercise.

"For now, I’m as good as my age says I must be. I’m not old, I am 87, but my body says the counting doesn't end at 87, at least you must get to a 100."

This interview was obviously done before Mugabe collapsed at his mansion on Tuesday evening.

Believe what you will, but 87 years of age is a good age... TO RETIRE!
