Mugabe Abhors White Involvement in Land 'Reform'
When the chaotic, vicious, bloody and destructive landgrab began in 2000, Mugabe told the world that it was to correct the land tenure of the country's colonial past and to return the land to the landless blacks. The programme has since then, systematically stripped the land from the white commercial farmers... and handed it to Mugabe's officials and loyalists.

I don't see anything that remotely resembles that which he claims it to be. The landless blacks remain landless, and with the shift in land tenure to ZANU PF bigwigs, many of the landless are now jobless...
And the vast majority of those that now own the land know nothing about agriculture, the ownership of the land being something approaching a status symbol.
"Robert Mugabe has slammed his cronies for leasing land to white former commercial farmers saying such disturbing behaviour was tantamount to reversin what he called 'the historic land reform programme'.
Mugabe made the remarks following recent revelations that several farmers in his own backyard, Mashonaland West Province, were leasing their farms to white former farmers. Sources said Mugabe's message was directed towards his local government Minister Ignatious Chombo and Webster Shamu."
Mugabe also paraded the 'one farm - one family' policy early on in the programme, and yet his family - and many others besides - now own multiple farms.
How can he establish a publicised policy and then subvert it himself?
Mind you, this is how Mugabe works.
"Regrettably, this feeling of inadequacy and duplicity in some of our people threatens even the very programmes that ZANU PF put together for their economic empowerment. Some abuses of the resettlement exercise stand as testimony to this short-sightedness."
Sorry? "Resettlement"? What resettlement? Mugabe and his party members that have taken land have not resettled anyone!
The only resettlement that any Zimbabwean has experienced has been when they are forcibly removed from wherever to live in holes in the ground, like Hopley Farm on the outskirts of Harare.
Mugabe repeatedly shoves the idea down the throats of Zimbabweans that ZANU PF 'liberated' the country from white rule. What good is that 'liberation' if the people that conducted that act prove to be so much worse than those they replace?
"Added the 86 year old dictator: "Where some people have assessed the means of production, a certain paralysis afflicts them and leads them into underhand deals with the same white man who, yesterday, refused to share a resource that should be enjoyed by all the country's citizens."
Who says that the farmlands were not enjoyed by the whole country before the landgrab? The farmers were renowned for establishing schools and clinics on their land, and providing a living to their workers which was the envy of other African countries.
What has become of all of that infrastructure today?
It lies abandoned, in ruins and unused – like so much of the Zimbabwean economy. If this is the 'liberation' that Mugabe is so proud of, methinks that the people would love to rewind the clock.
But I don't see or hear Mugabe complaining about the decades which the white commercial farmer produced food to feed the masses, nor the years which saw the product being exported to other countries in the world, earning Zimbabwe the much-needed foreign currency...
The man is an anathema - he does one thing, and calls it another...
Why has everything that Mugabe talks about has to be laced with racial hatred?
