Monterrey Mayor: Narcos have surpassed the State
After condemning the execution of official Transit occurred yesterday near Avenida Revolucion, Mayor Fernando Larrazabal said it is clear that the state government has no capacity to deal with organized crime, as so he will be making a direct request to President Felipe Calderon to send more federal forces.

The National Action Party mayor said the recent attacks on police and traffic officers is an attempt at intimidation by organized gangs to which they can not respond because their corporations do not have firepower.
Larrazabal said although the state government is the indicted government body to face these criminal groups, it is simply not fulfilling it's role.
"Given the low capacity of the State to deal with these situations, I will negotiate with the federal government the increased presence of federal forces to protect and ensure safety in all areas of the municipality, he said.
"The capability of our local police and traffic officers is limited because they have a preventive role, and the one who has, or should be able to face these criminals, which is the State Government, is not having the competency to do it."
Larrazabal declared he has hopes of a prompt response from President Felipe Calderon.
