Japan’s Meteorological Agency says a moderately strong earthquake has jolted the Tokyo area.
There have been no reports of injuries or damage from the magnitude 5.1 quake.
The agency says the earthquake hit Saturday and was centered off the coast of Ibaraki about 90 miles north of Tokyo. The quake was felt in the Japanese capital.
Japan sits atop four tectonic plates and is one of the world’s most earthquake-prone countries.
