Miral: The Movie They Do Not Want Us To See
The Zionist lobby is throwing a fit over the new film by acclaimed director Julian Schnabel. Miral, based on the lives of two Palestinian women who lives are deeply affected by the Nakba (Catastrophe) of the Palestinian people when over 800,000 were uprooted from their homes by Zionist militias seeking to proclaim the state of Israel.
Miral looks like a stunning film and marks the first time the Palestinian narrative has been told by Hollywood. It's historical significance should not be under stated. Hollywood is an industry that did a lot to brandish Israel's image starting with the highly propagandistic Exodus, staring Paul Newman, where Israelis were portrayed as Europeans pioneers just like Americans and Palestinians as a bunch of vile savages unworthy of humanity. Exodus itself was based on a best-selling novel, and the two cemented a pro-Israel image for a generation of Americans. This ignoble episode was followed by decades of Hollywood trash were Arabs were always the evil terrorists wanting to inexplicable harm Americans and Israelis, again, "like us". This reached its climax when Hollywood welcomed two Israeli film makers who set up a production company which made 30 some off films, all of which were based on a pure ideological agenda: Each film dealt with the Arab-Israeli conflict where Israel was always the heroes and the PLO was plotting to blow up the White House.
Ironically, at a time when the American public is more suitable for anti-Arab and anti-Muslim agitation after September 11th, Hollywood has actually become more responsible. Films like Syriana and Rendition has shined a critical light on anti-Arab prejudice and portrayed Arabs as actual human beings.
Miral, a beautiful and powerful film starting the equally so Indian actress Frida Pinto, marks a stunning step forward. Hollywood finally takes on Palestine and the Palestinians finally have their say. It is has been made by a Jewish-American film maker and financed by Harvey Weinstein, a legendary Jewish-American producer and studio head.
Needless to say, the Israel lobby is not happy. As I previously wrote: Not surprisingly the film has been attacked by the Zionist groups American Jewish Committee and the lousy phonies at the Anti-Defamation League, who have protested its premier at the UN General Assembly:
“It is particularly unfortunate that the film is scheduled to be shown on the day following the funerals of five Israeli victims who were murdered in a heinous attack in which it was reported that the Palestinian terrorist group Al Aksa Martyrs Brigades has claimed responsibility,” [Abe Foxman of ADL] added. “The terrorist murder of five members of the Fogel family is a stark reminder of the truly devastating nature of the conflict and the toll of human lives it has taken,” the ADL wrote. The AJC said the same stupid Zionist shit.
Anyway, Weinstein has used the Israel lobby-generated controversy to great marketing effect as "The movie they tried to stop is coming to New York this Friday." If a powerful status quo elite is opposed to it, you know this is a remarkable and radical breakthrough and perhaps this will spark the excitement of many young people, including pioneering young Jews who refuse to allow militant Zionism to control their identity as Jews. Weinstein took out a full page ad in the New York Times:

Let the revolution begin!
