Ministry of Defense Targeted by Suicide Attackers
Kabul saw an apparently failed suicide attack this morning as suicide attacker assaulted the heavily fortified Ministry of Defense in Kabul. The attacker is said to have opened fire leaving behind at least 2 ANA soldiers killed and another 7 injured. However, he was gunned down before he could explode himself.

Though no official statements or comments have come so far, ambulances have been seen rushing towards hospitals from the scene. Initial reports from the scene suggest at least 3 military personnel were killed in the attack. In addition, a senior bodyguard of the Defense Minister and the secretary to the Chief of Staff have been reported wounded in the attack.
Unconfirmed reports maintain that the suicide attacker was dressed in the Afghan National Army Uniform and held an ANA Identity Card while entering the ministry. Yet it's unclear whether the attacker was a Taliban fighter disguising himself as the ANA soldier or has been a Taliban influenced individual who has infilterated into the National Army through the normal recruitment procedures.
