The Catholic Church in Mexico has and continues to benefit from drug cartels. Not only do they benefit greatly, from cartels, they repay these benefits with loyal silence, accused expert security analyst Arturo Arango.

According to Arango, many churches are supported by drug money and the priests know the men they have have married or officiated other religious ceremonies are kingpins, drug traffickers.

Who has been officiating their grandchildren's weddings? Who has presided over the marriage and baptisms of their children? Who has married the kingpins themselves? You mean priests, and their higher Catholic hierarchy, never know who these people are? They have no idea when they're invited to drug traffickers events? The priests have full knowledge of who is engaged in drug trafficking, as they each of their parishioners very well.
Arango explained that like many institutions, the Catholic Church has been part of the social decay of the country and has completely side stepped it's obligation and opportunity to warn and encourage society to move away from criminal activities.
He hoped that after the preparation of the document "In Christ, our Peace, Mexico is worthy", presented yesterday by the Conference of Mexican Bishops, clergy build a new relationship with society, orientate them, and assist in identifying these actions as the failure of our states.
