Mexico City 'Trimming the Fat' off Overwieght Cops
No more tacos for you Sr. Gordo, unless of course you have at least 3 helpings of veggies on the side.

Mexico City has announced a new program to trim the fat off their forces ever-expanding waistlines. Although over 70% of the 70,000 plus Mexico City force are overweight, the program will begin with 1300 officiales who present the most severe weight related health problems.
According to Noral Frias, Mexico City's Public Safety official, the officers will be submitted to full medical exams to measure cholesterol, triglycerides, and glucose before creating personalized diet plans for each officer.

"We can't tell them, 'Don't eat sandwiches and tacos,'" Frias said. "What we can tell them is if you eat one sandwich today, if you eat three tacos today, then balance it with some vegetables."-AP
In addition to personal diet plans, 28 of the 30 police cafeterias will have their menues overhauled to lessen fats and carbs while increasing the amounts of fruits and vegetables served. The idea is to lower the average officer caloric intake from 4000 calories per day to a sleek and stunning, yet healthy and appetizing 2400 calories. Good for you Mexico City!
On a national level there is an estimated 40% obesity level in police officers. I can't help but wonder if these numbers are evidence of a much larger picture.
To lose weight you need to get your ass moving with some cardio, sweat a little. Maybe for the chubbies it might help if they actually got off their round asses and starting 'chasing some bad guys'. After all you can't burn alot of calories driving your patrullas around picking up extorsion payments, kidnapping, and calling in the soldiers movements for the narcos.
