About 5,000 criminal gangs have been employed by the different cartels operating in the country, who strengthened relations with the Mara Salvatrucha in Central America and the Mexican Mafia in America , said a report by the Deputy Attorney Specialized Investigation of Organized Crime (SIEDO).
According to the data specified SIEDO, gangs are formed in 80% by Mexicans and Latinos and 20% of a mixture of Mexicans and Americans who are used to manage the education and weapons training of new members.
In the specific case of Ciudad Juarez, it is thought that about 1,500 groups such as The Aztecs, Mexican Purebred and The Wildcats, with members between the ages of 14 and 25, have been used by the Juarez cartel to form La Linea .

Another major force in the mexico's drug cartels is the Tijuana cartel, which uses narco assassin gangs such as the Narcojuniors, a gang made up of young upper class gangsters who join not out of economic necessity, but for status and fame, for the Arellano Felix and The Culiches sector that handles the Nogales region.
The now independent drug gang, Los Zetas is the only organization that has not changed its recruiting styles and structure. They continue to manage their organization with weapon, surveillance and survival experts by recruiting ex-military troops.
