This is the story of Nujood Mohammad Ali, a Yemini child bride who was married against her wish, through arranged marriage to a man three times her age has been honored by the Glamor magazine, with their annual "Woman of The Year"award. She is one of the nine women among whom are Hillary Clinton, Mrs. Rice, Nicole Kidman.
The magazine gives the award to women in various fields be it politics, entertainment, fashion etc. Hillary was awarded for motivating women from every sphere, Rice for her political role. Tyra Banks for contribution to the charity supporting young women and Chanel chief Maureen for her role in international business world. Nicole Kidman for her work among abused women.
But the story of Nujood is unique. She was married to a man three times her age but never reconciled to her fate. When she came to visit her parents after two months, she ran off to a court to seek divorce. When the judge saw her sitting on the bench after the session was over, he came to know about her plight. A Human Rights Lawyer took up her case and Nujood got what she wanted, her Freedom.
Naturally she is stronger both mentally and physically. Now she is studying further, two benefactors have agreed to pay for her school supply and further education.
