Madonna In Israel

"Pop star" Madonna faced calls for the a boycott prior to her two concerts in Israel, which concluded the "star's" Sticky-and-?something tour. Madonna did not cancel the shows, and, on the contrary, showed great love for Israel. During one of her shows, the "artist" held up and waved the Israeli flag to the great joy of the audience.

This greatly irritated Palestinian supporters whom left comments of condemnation underneath the posted YouTube video. This was not the first time Madonna visited Israel. The singer has been there before both for shows and her religious pilgrimage. Madonna is a convert to Kabbalah. Now, Kabbalah is a rich Jewish mystical faith. But there is the real Kabbalah and then there is Hollywood's version of Kabbalah. A few years ago, some entrepreneurial individuals created this Kabbalah-to-go and vapid Hollywood stars always eager to appear smarter and more introspective than they actually are embraced it. Madonna has been one of its biggest promoter, even though she knows nothing about what Kabbalah really is and goes to holy sites in Israel just for the photo-op. This is a woman who went to a Jewish cemetery dressed in a Louis Vuitton hat. The best definition of this Kabbalah was offered on Family Guy: "about a buck .75" in reference to the red bracelet worn by cult-followers. Note: not all American Kabbalah followers are inauthentic, just the Hollywood-types.

Madonna's love for Kabbalah was inspired a love for Israel. But it is not that Madonna cares for Israel, it is that she just cares for Israel while the Israeli-occupation does not bear on her mind. This is a woman whom likes to present herself as pro-peace and a humanitarian. Whom adopts African children for that purpose. She spoke out against Bush and the Iraq war, and John McCain and Sarah Palin for that matter. Say what you want about Palin, but she is better-informed than triangle-tits. But she is your classical American liberal: PEP, Progressive Expect Palestine. American liberals care for all expect Palestine. Susan Saradon is almost hysterical when it comes to Bush, but she embraces an Israeli diamond merchant whom funds illegal settlements that steal Palestinian land. The British government boycotts this man - Lev Leviev - but Saradon loves him and his collection of jewels.

Jane Fonda once entertained not only the Viet Cong, communists fighting against her country, but Israeli troops off the coast of Lebanon about the attack the country.

Madonna is no different. If she loves Israel fine, but to be in Israel and celebrate without showing even token concern for the Palestinian is a reflection only of a tribal-mentality at least on this issue. It is not only that. Madonna did not just go to Israel, and she did not just hang out with Israeli leftists but embraced the Israeli far-right:

"Madonna is reportedly spending the Sabbath eve at Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's home."

There is no low for American liberals and Israel. I could comment some more, but the best comment I've read is by the Angry Arab and I'll leave it to him:

Forget about the celebrity culture and forget about a person whose knowledge of world affairs is distracted by her constant search for poor African children to buy. But it made me think: that American Zionist liberals are not even like Israeli Zionist liberals. Israeli Zionist liberals are aware of the right-left dichotomy (as bad and criminal and terrorist the Israeli Zionist liberals and conservatives are), while American liberal Zionists identify with Israel so much that they disregard the right-left dichotomy. This is a woman who would never be seen with a right-wing American politician, but would be honored to dine with a fascist Israeli leader. Such are the standards of American Zionist liberals: Madonna mocks George W. Bush, and honors Netanyahu, who is to the right of Bush.
