According to the SGPC, Religion does not permit Sikh men to let open their hair even at the time of eating.

SGPC President Avtar Singh argued,

Our Religious norms do not allow any Sikhs to keep their hair open. He is a role model for young Sikhs, he should think about the impact of his act on younger generation.

He suggested Bhajji to learn from Monty Panesar how to love the religious norms as he was born in the UK but never disrespected the religion.

However, Harbhajan Singh has apologised to the SGPC after the rage and said,

I am extremely sorry if I have hurt Sikh sentiments and religious faith. It was not an intentional act. I will take care of this in future.
