A sister, brother and niece of indicted U.S. Rep. William Jefferson pleaded not guilty in federal court to fraud charges seperate from the congressman’s case.
New Orleans tax assessor Betty Jefferson, her brother Mose Jefferson and her daughter Angela Coleman were arraigned Friday on charges they pocketed more than $600,000 in state and federal grant money earmarked for charitable and educational programs.
