"Kill All Westerners In Arabian Peninsula" Says al Qaeda In Yemen -Brit and U.S. Embassies Shut Down

Does anyone really think that if all the Westerners vacated the Arabian Peninsula, as al Qaeda and other Islamists so desire and demand, that all terrorism and violence in the world would magically disappear? You'd have to be pretty darn stupid and naive to believe that. Because as long as they have their eye on dominating the world with Islam, their violence will never stop until they accomplish their goals.

But that's what they'd like us to believe, or so it seems. Al-Qaeda in the Arab Peninsula (AQAP) as they call themselves, has taken root (and is spreading quickly) in Yemen, and even in spite of Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab failing to ignite his underpants and destroy his privates and everyone elses on the Detroit-bound plane, they are still determined as ever. This time, they have called on all Muslims to kill all westerners in the Arabian peninsula, which of course isn't anything new.

In a statement posted on the internet, al-Qaeda in the Arab Peninsula, or AQAP, called on its followers to declare “all-out war against every crusader on Mohammed’s Peninsula”.

It added: “We call upon every Muslim who cares about his religion and doctrine to assist in expelling the apostates from the Arabian Peninsula by killing every crusader who works at their embassies."

Mohammed's peninsula? I find that kind of interesting since the Arabian peninsula predates Islam, and the Muslims were the crusaders back then, so does that mean they should kill themselves, as well? Oops, I forgot, they do that too.

With this new message, the U.S. and U.K. embassies aren't taking the threat lightly, since AQAP has carried out violence against foreign missions before, or at least attempted to. The U.S. was attacked, with 19 dead and many wounded, in 2008. And a few weeks ago, authorities killed 4 AQAP thugs who had intended on blowing up the British embassy. As a result, both Britain and the U.S. closed their embassies to safeguard their diplomats.

Yemen is becoming a major problem, and the Yemeni government doesn't seem very well equipped to handle it. There are some who even believe that containment is the only possibility, since eradication is well nigh impossible; because the ranks are growing exponentially as extremists are being routed out of other countries and making their way to Yemen.

AQAP, created last year when al-Qaeda’s Yemen and Saudi operations merged on Yemeni soil, is also a different prospect today, experts say.

“Before it was a fairly weak, loosely knit group,” said Saeed Ali al-Jemhi, author of a book on al-Qaeda’s activities in Yemen. “Today it is a fully-fledged organization. The question is could it be destroyed? It couldn’t. At best, it could be contained.”

How reassuring!

Al Qaeda and other radical groups like the Taliban are turning out to be like cockroaches- no amount of insect spray seems to be able to get rid of them. They say that of all creatures on earth, if there were to be a nuclear war, the only things to survive would be the roaches, and I'd venture to add al Qaeda and the other Muslim extremists.
