Kenya's new prime minister takes oath of office

Kenya’s opposition leader has been sworn in as the new prime minister as part of a power-sharing deal that ended weeks of violence following the country’s disputed elections.
President Mwai Kibaki named Raila Odinga as prime minister on Sunday. Forty ministers are also taking office Thursday.
More than 1,000 Kenyans died in the fighting after the December elections.
