There are so many sick people in this world; degenerates from all walks of life, ethnicities and religions. Perverts doing things that would sicken and horrify most people. One would think one would be safe with one's own family, but oftentimes some of the worst crimes happen at the hands of some family member or other. Sometimes it's hidden, sometimes other family members are aware of what is going on but do nothing about it, out of fear or displaced loyalty.
But what one Jordanian father did to his own daughter is beyond the pale. What is even more sickening is that the mother knew of what was going on but did absolutely nothing about it.
An unnamed Jordanian carpenter had been raping his daughter from the time she was 15-years-old up until she was 19, when she got pregnant with his child. Trying to hide what he had done, he did the unthinkable:
“The suspect brought a carpet cutter, cut his daughter’s stomach with it, opened her womb and took the female fetus and threw it in the garbage,” papers quoted police sources as saying.
He then sewed up his daughter’s stomach with thread, but could not stop her bleeding and she died.
The father, who was not identified, headed to the police station in the city of Zarqa, 25 km east of Amman, on Sunday claiming to have killed his 19-year-old daughter.
He also confessed to the police that he had been raping her for all those years. The mother had done nothing to help her daughter in spite of being fully aware that her husband was systematically raping their own child. Apparently, he had threatened to kill them both, if she said anything. I don't know what kind of control he had over the wife, but allowing your child to be raped and then butchered like that is unconscionable.
The man has been charged with murder and rape. I'm not sure if he will be charged with murdering the full-term (37-week-old) fetus, as he would if he were in the U.S. but he deserves a very long time in jail after what he did to his daughter.
