Former U.S. Agriculture Secretary Mike Johanns easily wins in Nebraska’s Republican U.S. Senate primary.
Johanns beats political newcomer Pat Flynn for the Republican nomination. He’ll now take on the winner of a four-way Democratic contest in November’s general election.
The candidates are vying to replace retiring Senator Chuck Hagel. The two-term Republican announced in September that he wouldn’t seek re-election.
Johanns has Hagel’s open support and has raised more than $2 million.
