It's Official: Angelina adopts new son
Congratulations Angie! It's now official - Angelina Jolie is now the proud mom of her fourth child. Her adoption of a 3-year-old Vietnamese boy is official, Jolie's rep tells PEOPLE exclusively.
The boy's name is Pax Thien Jolie, born in November 2003, according to the orphanage where he has lived. His name means Peaceful Sky - Pax is peace in Latin and Thien is sky in Vietnamese.
Orphanage director Nguyen Van Trung told the AP that the three year old gets along with the other children and likes playing soccer.
He is in good health. He is a little bit shy.
When asked why the Jolie adoption was concluded so swiftly, Trung said it was because the boy is older and his files were already nearly complete.
Jolie's rep says she took custody of the child on Thursday in Vietnam, after arriving in Vietnam the night before along with 5 year old Maddox. Mommy and sons will remain in the country for about a week while the child's American passport is processed, the rep says.
Brad Pitt did not accompany Angie and Maddox to Vietnam during the proceedings. Trevor Neilson, Jolie's adviser on international affairs, tells PEOPLE.
Brad very much wanted to be there but is under contract working on a film in Los Angeles and as a result couldn't go.
