Israeli President: Guilty of Rape
Israeli President Moshe Katz has been found guilty of rape charges. The former president, I should note, had to resign his office after being indicted for rape after three ex-female aids came forward alleging he had subdued them into sex while he served as tourism minister in the 1990s.

The court found him guilty of two counts of rape against one of the plaintiffs and of molestation of the two other women.
Kats or Katsav denied the charges and declared that he was committed to "fight until the truth comes out" and still maintains his innocence. He son shouted "it's not true" as the verdict was read. The Judge accused Kats of a "riddled with lies" testimony/
He has been ordered to turn in his passport and will be sentenced once proceedings are concluded, he intends to appeal. Time for rape in Israel is between 4-16 years.
And this is not an isolated incident in Israel. The 65-year old Katz, originally from Iran, is only the third prominent Israeli official to be charged with rape in so many years: former justice minister Haim Ramon was convicted for sexual misconduct and former defense/transport minister Yitzhak Mordechai was also convicted on sexual assault charges.
Of course, such abuses take place everywhere. And I am sure there are cases in the Arab world, and in some Arab countries like Saudi Arabia imported domestic servants are often raped by husbands and elder sons. But all I can say is if this were an Arab country and these were Arab ministries and heads of states this would be front page in the American press and he'd read silly analysis about how this is all due to the patriarchal culture in the region and Islam's alleged misogynistic tenets and all of that nonsense.
