Israeli Occupation Solider to Activist: Are You Jewish?

It is no news to state that Israel engages in racist evaluation of human life. Arab and Muslim life is seen as cheap and dispensable and this is why Israel never hesitates to use the most brute force against the Palestinian civilian population.

Israeli snipers have been employed against Palestinian civilian demonstrations, and Israeli occupation troops fire live bullets at Palestinian youth throwing rocks. Israel calls this self-defense. Its poor soldiers, it alleges, are "threatened" by Palestinian children with slingshots and they have no other recourse expect to open fire. Israeli even has killed its own Arab citizens, again simply for the act of nonviolent protestations. And, as in all cases, not a single Israeli police officer was held accountable for killing fellow citizens simply for demonstrating. A mock investigation was opened and then closed without even a published report let alone prosecution.

But when faced with militant Jewish protest that is genuinely violent, Israel not only does not use arms its soldiers go in unarmed. During the Gaza uprooting of illegal settlements, militant Jewish took up siege and threw rocks and even acid at Israeli soldiers. And recently ultra-Orthodox Jews in Jerusalem resorted to burning down buildings in the city in protest of a state action. An token Arab member of the Israeli Knesset ironically noted the level of restraint the Israeli police were showing toward such violent Jewish protesters. Not a single one was shot at. If these were Arabs burning down buildings...do you even have to ask?

This is how Israeli treats human life. Jewish life, even when that individual is throwing acid in your face and burning property, is never supposed to be harmed, but all non-Jews may be killed with impunity. State sanctioned rabbis preached to Israeli occupation soldiers that the Palestinians in Gaza deserved death because they are gentiles intruding on 'Jewish land': Israelis soldiers went on to kill over 1,400 Palestinians, including over 400 children, in that war. And even the Israeli government has now begone to prosecute some of its soldiers for blatant killing of innocent Palestinians: including Palestinian civilians carrying white flags and a little girl. But, don't be fooled, such prosecutions are meant just for PR purposes. Israel always announces its will prosecute this or that soldier when human rights organizations have Marshalled strong evidence of wrongdoing. This announcement gets a headline and Israel hopes to project the image of a lawful society which respects all human life and has "the most moral army in the world," no less. But when it comes to actually applying consequences, even the most guilty and savage of soldiers get off free:

An Israeli army officer who fired the entire magazine of his automatic rifle into a 13-year-old Palestinian girl and then said he would have done the same even if she had been three years old was acquitted on all charges by a military court yesterday.

Because those soldiers are not "rogue" or went "astray" from normal Israeli conduct, they are the heart of a militant society that has an incessant disregard for the lives of the "Other".

Recently another flotilla sent sail to attempt to break the siege on the blockaded Gaza Strip - where 1.6million Palestinians are suffering an illegal collective punishment. This flotilla was funded by Jews (including the mother of the new head of the British Labor party) and entirely staffed by Jews, including a former IDF soldier. But the Israelis seemed to be unsure if one of the activists was actually Jewish. This her is testimony:

Only in Fascist regimes are people forced to think the same. I experienced humiliation when arrested. I was not physically mistreated but suffered emotionally. I suffered when the immigration person asked me if I was Jewish after I told him I was a refugee from the Nazis, the last generation to be able to tell the heinous story. He wanted me to prove that I was Jewish. How was I to do that and yes, how deeply humiliating.

That way they know how to deal with her. If she was non-Jewish they may rough her up a bit and steal her belongings, if not kill her, but since she is a Jew even when faced with a Jewish opponent they restraint their conduct.

This is Zionism: an ethnic-supremacist ideology/state based on colonial evaluations of human life with a militant core.
