Is Israel Planning to Expel Palestinians to Gaza?

The Israeli government recently issues a new military order which explicitly provides for the expulsion of Palestinians from the West Bank if Israel regards their residency to be illegal.

Of course, the West Bank is a part of Palestine and Palestinians are entitled to live where ever they want in their country. But Israel is not content with having expelled 800,000 Palestinians from most of Palestine in 1948 or further ethnically cleansing 100,000 Palestinians in 1967 from the West Bank. And Israel is not satisfied prohibiting Palestinians from living in most of 1948 Palestine (even Palestinian citizens of Israel cannot buy over 90% of the land which is held as a trust exclusively for world Jewry) or in West Jerusalem. These lands used to be overwhelmingly Palestinian, and now they are 100% cleansed from Palestinians (after they were stolen by the Zionists) and the Palestinians are annually denied their right to return. And, as we 'speak', Israel is undertaking ethnic cleansing in East Jerusalem to further ride the city of all Muslims and Christians and make it exclusively Jewish.

But Israel covets more Palestinian land. It wants to further its colonization of the West Bank and may now undertake a new program of ethnic cleansing in that regard. In that effort, Israel claims that thousands of Palestinians in the West Bank are illegally present lacking Israeli ID cards. Thus these Palestinians have no right, Israel claims, to residency and should be expelled. The Jordan government has already warned Israel against pushing Palestinians into Jordan (more on that in another post).

But Israel will not push Palestinians into Jordan since Israel has to maintain a modicum of respect for Jordan's wishes given the submissiveness of the Hashamite monarchy toward Israel and the signing of the 1994 peace treaty.

What Israel will likely do if it carries out just an injustice is to expel Palestinians into Gaza. It recently did just that with a Hamas MP recently from Israeli jail. Israel will dump Palestinians into Gaza in an effort to maintain the illusion of a Jewish demographic majority. Of course, an injustice is an injustice irrelevant to the question of demographics. And apartheid is apartheid equally irrelevant to the matter of population figures.

But Israel worries that its occupation will come under the indisputable mark of apartheid if the demographic balance tips in favor of the Palestinian Arabs over the Israeli Jews. This is going to happen this year of next. So what Israel wants to do is arbitrarily claim that the demographics still favor it.

Israel argument is that in calculating figured the 1.5million Palestinians in Gaza should not be factored since they do not fall under Israeli occupation. Of course, Gaza is still occupied since Israel controls the borders, airspace, sea space, water and electricity of the territory. But Israel falsely claims that the occupation has ended because it removed settlements and withdrew the military from inside Gaza to the border between occupied Gaza-Israel. Israel did this solely on demographics considerations hoping to convince the world that a Jewish majority is still present. Again, the occupation is brutal, illegal and should end regardless of Jewish majority or minority status. But this is the talking point Israel contends with. And so it claims that a Jewish majority is still dominant because Gaza's population does not matter.

It may now be seeking to increase Gaza's population by forcibly transferring Palestinians there and this allows Israel to gain in two ways 1) it can further present the false image of a demographic balance by continuing to exclude Gaza's population and adding to that exclusion with transfered residents from the West Bank 2) and with the expulsion of Palestinians from the West Bank Israel will have more ill-gotten, stolen land to build more Jewish settlements and further its colonization.

Pay very close attention to what Israel does in the West Bank in terms of claiming this or that person cannot leave there and should be moved. Israel will seek to sanctify its horrific and racist deeds under the mask of legal and technical language, about how it is all just a question of paperwork and not part of a political agenda to expel more Palestinians; but not be fooled. And Israel will do this on a person-by-person or dozen-by-dozen basis. It knows it looks bad when several Palestinians are kicked out at once and then the political motive is blatant and the press' attention is severe. So it will seek to minimize that by only kicking out a few at a time.

But ethnic cleansing all the same, and the same since the early days of Zionism.
