Iranian Martyr Neda Soltan's Grave Desecrated By Pro-Ahmadinejad Goons
There is something decidedly wicked about people who would desecrate a graveside, but that's what Iranian pro-Government, pro-Ahmadinejad reprobates did with Neda Agha Soltan's tombstone. By defacing her effigy with bullet marks, and this isn't the first time, they are trying to get at her even in death.

Remember 27-year-old Neda, pro-democracy movement martyr, Angel of Iran, shot in cold blood by Iranian Basij militiamen, her murder caught on videotape during the demonstrations this past June, 2009? Her death inspired millions to continue protesting what appeared to be a rigged presidential election. Ahmadinejad promised there would be retaliations against protesters, and he obviously made good on his promise.
Miss Soltan was shot during a huge demonstration in Tehran on June 20, eight days after President Ahmadinejad won by a suspiciously wide margin.Footage of her last moments flashed around the world, transforming her into a symbol of the regime’s brutality.
After her death, Caspian Makan, Neda's fiance, was beaten and jailed for 65 days, just to make her death even more unbearable.
Mr Makan told The Times that during his 65 days in prison ‘the intelligence ministry people told me several times that Neda’s death has damaged the regime greatly’.He continued: ‘Despite this, they don’t realise that by continuing to kill more Nedas they are only making the Iranian people more determined in their struggle.’
Her memorial is supposedly guarded by security forces 24/7, not to protect the grave from vandalism, it seems, but rather to prevent pro-Democracy supporters from turning it into a shrine, since she has now become a symbol of their movement.
Vandalized last November, the first smashed headstone was replaced, and within 17 days her parents discovered the new one was damaged, as well. So not only did they have to endure the agony of losing their daughter, they have also had to face the desecration of her tombstones, which is tantamount to having her killed all over again.
And to make matters worse, there are actually people who, in all their breathtaking ignorance, are convinced Neda is not dead, or that she was killed by the CIA in some cockamamie, conspiracy theory that has no basis in reality. In fact, Ahmadinejad is one of those. Of course, in his case, (although I believe the man is deluded), it is much more convenient to place blame on outside forces than to fess up to the fact the government you run is corrupt and evil.
The regime has stepped up efforts to suggest that Miss Soltan was shot not by one of its Basij militiamen but by agents of Iran’s Western enemies.A new documentary produced by Iranian state television claims that Ms Soltan was an agent of the U.S. and Britain. It suggests that she squeezed fake blood over herself as she lay on the pavement but was then shot dead by her fellow conspirators - presumably to silence her.
‘Neda for a moment realises their wicked plan and struggles to escape but they quickly shoot her from behind,’ the narrator claims.
The video then goes on to name Arash Hejazi, the doctor who tried to save her and has since fled to Britain, as one of her killers.
The sad thing is, there are people who will actually believe it.
Beautiful young Neda was a brave, young woman who was unafraid to die, choosing to participate in the demonstrations, in spite of being warned by friends not to go, because she believed in freedom for all. Let her spirit inspire others to continue to fight for freedom.
Rest in peace, Neda.
