Iran Blacklists 60 Foreign Organizations Including BBC and Yale
Instead of looking within and trying to figure out why the Iranian population is fed up and tired of the current regime, the government is stupidly blaming everyone but itself on the current political upheaval. I guess the plumber always blames his tools, because he's never willing to accept responsibility for his own failures. In this case, the Iranian government is blaming foreigners for the political unrest in Iran and has decided to ban contact with more than 60 international organizations, including some surprises like the BBC and Yale, and some obvious ones like Human Rights Watch, and Voice of America.

The deputy intelligence minister in charge of external affairs said the 60 blacklisted groups were suspected of being involved in efforts by Western governments to topple the Islamic regime as part of a "soft war" and that it is now an offence to communicate with them."Any kind of contact by individuals or legal entities with those groups involved in the soft war is illegal and prohibited," he said. Iranian state media did not give his name.
Foreign organizations are not the only ones being censored, the website of opposition group Rahesabz was also targeted, along with People's Muhajadeen.
The Deputy Intelligence Minister also told citizens to stay away from "irregular contacts with embassies or foreign nationals or centres linked to them". They're obviously terribly afraid of any help the opposition might get from foreign entities. Which begs the question, if the government is so great, why are there so many unhappy with it?
Even the Ayatollah Khameini has piped in about the troubles in his country. Last November he too blamed foreign enemies for all the unrest. He said
Iran was in the throes of a "soft war" with its enemies abroad, who he claimed were fomenting the street protests. The claim has become a mantra of regime officials, who are sensitive to criticism from Western leaders and have accused them repeatedly of supporting the opposition.
Blaming foreigners is asinine since without a dissatisfied populous there wouldn't be a 'soft war' to foment. Hopefully, some day soon, the Iranian people will get what they so desperately want. Freedom.
