IPL Ka Bada Ticket—what nonsense? The advertisements depict bankruptcy of imagination of the copywriter(s). They represent overuse of non-sense rather than anything else.
The IPL advertisements are a sad dig at the commonsense of an average Indian.
It seems only those vying to buy IPL ka bada ticket could be stupid enough not to know what ticket he is supposed to present when a Railway ticket inspector asks him for a ticket during or after a rail travel.
The other advertisement is another classic example of a silly sense of humour. Can you find a single politician who would value a ticket for a cricket match more than a party ticket? It neither conveys anything and it is also low on a scale of humour. In fact, there isn’t any kind of humour in it.
If this is the imagination level of today’s copywriters, one wonders where the advertising industry is headed for… They really need to hone their skills.
It is sad that we have to put up with advertisements because that is where the sponsorship money for television programmes come.
At least the advertisements could be a little more imaginative to tickle our ribs rather than sound and look stupid on the screen. They are tortuous to say the least. They need to be more sympathetic to the sensibilities of the masses who have to bear the brunt of their torture.
Let the makers of this advertisement travel by train on an IPL ka bada ticket and let their politicians hunt for the IPL ka bada ticket during the next elections instead of party tickets.
The advertisers as well as producers of these advertisement should spare the Indian masses such levels of stupidity.
As far as I am concerned, I would prefer to buy a small ticket for a cricket match that would fit in my wallet and my pocket.
Let the organizers, sponsors and advertisers buy the bada ticket which would not fit in anywhere!
