Inner voyage
As I often ponder on my nostalgic moments of my childhood, I often wonder whether children of today will really undergo similar experiences…Wonder not!!...I am not swaying your way back to a B/W world…I am not even talking about a world too old..I am just reminiscing about my bygone days might be a decade old…
Those days against now…was not much inspired by technological gizmos…Belonging to a small town, we often used to cherish and our entertainment factor was somewhat different…During marriages, the get-togethers of all kiths and kins…the hullabaloos of children…the traditional dances…pranks and goof ups of teenagers…and last but not the least…the watching of videos throughout the entire night (on marriages, new year eves & even after exams) instilled our systems to eagerly wait till another season…The bridegrooms procession often used to be in buses, where people used to dance, cherish and evoke into all innocent pranks….our hearts cherished and swayed into boundless joys till destination…
Even during many occasions including merameri (celebrated on 14th January), family picnics, school picnics, Jhulan…to name a few…the kind of cherishment and happiness we used to gather on very little materialistic things, I wonder are missing from the life of this generation…
Also during the telecast of Ramanand Sagar’s ‘Ramayan’, few privileged with a TV set used to host a roomful of eventful people…I also remember much popular shows I used to watch in DD in my childhood …few to name were Rangoli, Chitrahaar, Buniyad, Humlog, Project UFO, Yeh jo hein Zindegi…etc.
At times, I really feel nostalgic and satisfied that we were at least not that privileged and could really have our piece of happiness with that little…much unlike our children who are heading towards a materialistic world with no ending towards their desires, hopes and ever increasing wishes… Anyways, everyone cherish their childhood and has their own different story to take one into a really different world…
