A military spokesman says an Indonesian air force plane carrying 18 people has been reported missing.
Air force spokesman Chaeruddin Ray said Friday that a search was under way in the Salak Mountain region, about 60 miles south of Jakarta.
The Casa-212 military aircraft disappeared during an aerial surveillance mission Thursday.
Ray says 13 passengers, including some foreigners, and five crew members were aboard.
