India's Progress Is Great Illusion!

One of my best friends who has parted ways with me posted an interesting video on Orkut's video section.The video inspires one have elevated sense of consciousness in critical matters.I mean it tries to project that we Indians lack the courage to take the initiative. I went into deep thinking mode after watching this wonderful video.

What I came to feel,I expressed it in black and white on her page. In nutshell,I critically examined the video's message and felt that simple steps would never allow the country to rise above complex problems plaguing the nation. The original message is in Hindi.

Honouring the Instablogs policy that "Hindi is not allowed on Instablogs" I will first present the translated version followed by the original version in Hindi.

Friend I am no "Chulbul Pandey" yet I showing my "Dabangai" ( daring ) by posting my response on your Orkut page even as we have parted ways as friend. Let me tender my apology beforehand for trespassing your privacy. I came to saw this inspirational video on your page and that inspired me to go beyond the message obvious in the video.Though I am surcharged with thoughts,it's better I limit myself to the most important ones in this regard.

The video definitely makes us gain positive insights but the country in which leaders have entered in all sort of scams from Fodder scam ( Chara Ghotala ) to Coffin scam.I don't think deluded optimism or cosmetic gestures are going to serve any purpose.Well, the patient that needs surgery will not heal if given tonic by the doctor !!!

This land full of immense possibilities does not need tonic but it needs surgery to radiate its real colours.Have a look at the video friend and see how the men in uniform is yawning like a doggie in moment of extreme crisis.This brings out in open how the bureaucracy really functions in our nation. These are the ever alert and capable officers -relaxing in the time of crisis. They are responsible for perfect government machinery !!

(I wonder how can our PM boast of effective governance in wake of such loopholes in our system)These officials when get the posting turn into Indian rupee printing press !! They enter into loot and scoot .Have a look at the loot game going before start of Commonwealth Games !!! Mayawati is wasting the hard earned tax payers money on building statues.She loves lifeless statues more than human beings !!

Former CM of Jharkahand managed to enter into just 4000 thousand crore scam in one of the most backward states of India !! My friend did you notice such mind boggling happenings ? Tell me my friend can we rely on cosmetic gestures ? Do you think that

mere optimism will put this nation on the right track ?

Did you notice in the video how the smiling kids that had no proper clothes on their bodies came to lend helping hands to the boy who attempted to remove the fallen tree ? Do you know my friend that elite sections of our society never participates in voting yet this class of people are the first ones to avail all the facilities provided by the government.They even manage to ensure that share reserved for the poorer section also comes to them.They are the ones who maintain a safe distance from these "smiling kids" treating them to be a dark spot on the progressing Indian society !!!

Their homes are usually demolished to present a better image of India in the eyes of foreigners. No wonder the outsiders treat these smiling kids as "slumdogs" and we treat such term as great achievement crying "Jai Ho " !!!You are right my friend that your video suggests that a power to take the initiatives ,even the small ones, opens the gate of success !!

I have no problem over your this optimistic take but real life is bit more cruel.It brutally murders simple gestures.You lend a helping hand to man lying in pool of blood after a road accident and the policemen places you behind the bars questioning your motives !!! I feel Muktibodhji draws a better image of our times in these eternal lines of his wondrful poem.He is right that system never encourages people who dare to rise above the beaten track.He says :

When I called the rooms haunted by spirits

As dark corners mired in loneliness

We were punished by the system

We were called the rebels

It's we who received slaps

It's we who were tortured in secret cells

It's we who were thrown in the wells after being murdered

Nobody suffered other than us.

Only because we had the wisdom

And that's a crime in eyes of rulers !!!!

.......I am too-just like you- a great lover of positive perceptions my dear friend. Therefore,I do not hesitate that though darkness prevails the ability to take the initiatives could rope in some better changes.I wish to end my letter on a positive note by mentioning the lines of great Hindi poet Dushyant Kumar :

मित्र मै कोई 'चुलबुल पाण्डेय' नहीं पर फिर भी आपके ऑरकुट पेज पर अपने विचार रखने के 'दबंगई' कर रहा हू ..इसलिए पहले अग्रिम क्षमा !!! आपके पेज पे एक प्रेरणात्मक विडियो देखा तो कुछ कहने से अपने को रोक नहीं पाए !! कह तो बहुत कुछ सकते है पर संक्षेप में ही कहूँगा ..विडियो आशावाद का संचार करता है पर जिस देश में कफ़न से लेकर चारा तक में घोटाला हो रहा है वहा पे सिर्फ आशवाद या प्रतीकात्मक कदमो से काम तो नहीं चलने वाला न..ये तो वही बात हो गयी की जिस मरीज़ को सर्जरी की जरूरत हो उसे डॉक्टर साहिब टॉनिक देकर घर जाने को कह दे !!!

इस असीम संभवनाओ से भरे देश को टॉनिक नहीं सर्जरी की जरूरत है.विडियो देखे आप और देखे किस तरह एक खाकी वाले भाई साहेब कुत्ते के तरह जम्हाई ले रहे मुसीबत के वक़्त ..ये है हमारे यहाँ के काबिल नौकरशाह !!! ..पढ़ लिख कर जब कुर्सी पर बैठते है तो पैसा लूटने की मशीन बन जाते है ..कामनवेल्थ से पहले की लूट खसौट को भी देखे ..मायावती के जिन्दा लोगो के "welfare " के वजाय बेजान मूर्तियों से लगाव देखे...मधु कौडा ने झारखण्ड जैसे कम विकसित राज्य में भी चार हज़ार करोड़ का घोटाला कर दिया इस पर भी गौर करे !! अब बताओ मित्र क्या सिर्फ प्रतीकात्मक आशावाद से इस देश का कल्याण हो सकता है ??

विडियो में आपने देखा की किस तरह बदन पे कोई कपडा नहीं पर कुछ हँसते बच्चे उस बच्चे के साथ हाथ बटाते है पर आपने गौर किया की जो एलिट क्लास कभी वोट देने भी नहीं निकलता पर फिर भी हर सुविधा का पूरा हिस्सा डकार जाता है ऐसे बिना कपडे वालो बच्चो को समाज का कोढ़ समझता है और इनसे दूरी बना के रखता है..कोई आश्चर्य नही की बाहर वाले इन्हें "slumdogs " कहते है और हम इस पर ताली बजाकर जय हो करते है .. आप या आपके विडियो का कहना है की छोटी सी पहल बहुत दूर तक ले जाती है ..सही हो मित्र तुम आशावाद के दृष्टिकोण से पर यथार्थ में तो वोही होता है जो मुक्तिबोध बाबा कह रहे है इस कालजयी कविता में :
