Indian Muslims Fight Extreme Muslims
Muslims in Indian, long know for their incredibly virtues including their tolerance, have recently demonstrated such wisdom in their renunciation of fellow Indian Muslims who have turned to a false and extreme version of Islam.

Indian Muslims have started to shun extreme Muslims through making it clear that they are not welcomed at many Mosques. Several Indian Mosques have in recent months put up signs by the entrance of Mosques listing Islamic fundamentalist groups and stating that their members are unwelcome. Many Indian Muslim parents fear that their sons could be lost to Islamic extremism. That is why they are taking such defensive measures. One Muslim was reported as saying by The Washington Post to an audience of Indian Muslims: "We are holding on to our teenage boys by a very fragile thread. We have to protect them from outsiders who come to change our moderate ways."
Indian Muslims are mostly, about two-thirds, Barelvi Sunnis. There are over 130 million Indian Muslims. Barelvi Sunni Islam followers adhered to Sufi Islam, which is the mystical strain in Islam. Sufi Islam is less rigid than even liberal mainstream interpretations of Islam. Sufi Muslims attend shrines of Sufi saints. Conservative Muslims often view Sufi Muslims as heretics.
