The Global Peace Index, released by the US Department of State termed India as one of the worlds most unstable countries in the world today. Indian arch enemy Pakistan, has been ranked forth most unstable nations, just ahead of Iraq, Somalia, Afghanistan and Sudan.
India have been ranked 128th out of total 149 countries, and with issue like Kashmir, Pakistan, North East, Naxalites, LTTE (down south), I guess this position from global perspective is quite justified.
Iceland is the world most peaceful nations, while other nations like United States have been ranked (97), Pakistan(145) Nepal (80) (surprisingly higher than India), Our buddies Israel(136), Iran(105), and our old strategic partners Russia has been places 131).
