India, South Africa and Brazil have joined hands to develop nanotechnology to explore the technology for the nuclear power generation and its applications in healthcare sector too. A report says that India invests approximately $ 4 billion in the advancement of nanotechnology and on allied research in the country.
The agreement has been signed between the Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), Brazil and South Africa that would be much help in numerous industrial applications also such as beauty and healthcare.
According to IGCAR Director Dr. Baldev Raj, India would be able to generate electricity with the help of this technology.
He said:
We have planned to do the pre-project work before the criticalities. Our commitment is that by 2020 we should have five fast reactors in operation to generate 2,500W electricity from the first reactor.
According to the reports, the countries are also expecting a better coordination to originate priorities of common areas of interest such as water treatment, agriculture, environment and catalysis in the three countries.
Dr. Jose Antonio Brum, Coordinator of National De Luz Sincronton Companis, Brazil has said that the better coordination among three countries would be helpful to break technological barriers among these nations.
He said further that they have realised that the three countries have many similarities in nanotech. They face some difficulties so this is necessary to break some of these technological barriers to use the applications of the technology in various sector in all the three countries.
