What ails India?
The very fabric of the Indian society today is made of different races starting from the Aryans, to the Moughals, Chinese, Jews, Arabs and the English most of whom blended into the existing society. Its richness mineral as well as its tolerant and humane nature made it known the world over as the Golden bird of the east during the ancient times.

I wonder if any child growing up outside India got to experience such a confluence of cultures, language, festivals and religion as the children growing up in India do, very often every other month celebrates a festival of one religion or other. Early in life each Indian child learns to respect and appreciate another's culture and festivals.
I have very fond childhood memories of watching Ravana on Dushera going up in flames or throwing colour water balloons from rooftops on unsuspecting neighbors during Holi.
As such the present scenario of such intolerance not only regarding religion but also regarding minor differences such as state or mother tongue seem totally incomprehensible to the youth of today.
Excessive religious angles to television serials and unwanted news sensationalism regarding religious issues, I believe are to be blamed for such sorry sate of affairs.
The media boom instead of fighting intolerance and anarchy, at times has instead fanned flames into violence and unrest over petty comments or remarks by well-known personalities.
Moreover, the politicians of today seem to be made of a totally different material (barring a few)from the kind that gifted India its Independence.
They placed the people ahead of themselves where as today the order is reversed. Still a few good souls strive for the nation and God bless such souls or India would certainly go down the drain.
The mixing of religion and politics has caused immense pain to the entire nation. A country that lived as a family once, today finds each neighboring state pitted against each other by higher political powers.
In such a context it is the educated and thinking Indian that needs to shift the truth from the false from the media news, from the politician's claims and from the instigating extremists factors at work to believe and stand for human rights, harmony and peace to recreate the India that it once was!
