IFS woman officer arrested for passing Indian state secret to Pakistan
Madhuri is a well-paid group B officer. She is unmarried. But she is the India's first senior diplomat who was detained for such crime.

Madhuri Gupta, 53, is alleged to have been taking information from the RAW station head in Islamabad, which was passed to the Pakistani spy agencies. Gupta also worked as a liaison officer with various foreign missions in Pakistan, and investigations are on to find out if she had passed information to other countries as well. Whatever she may have handed over, she made a packet out of it, a police officer claimed. “She has revealed she earned a lot of money (by spying) and that most of the money is in Pakistan, although some has been routed to India.” The intelligence agencies believe she owns at least three flats in Delhi and Noida.
It is our common belief that woman works in more ethical way than man, but this incident put a big question mark on the above statement.
Gupta was apparently being tracked for nearly a year by the Indian government both in Islamabad and in New Delhi at her residence, before being carefully brought over to India on the excuse of SAARC related work. She was detained in New Delhi four days ago, and interrogated by a special group comprising members of different agencies like the Intelligence Bureau, RAW and Delhi police, before being arrested. A court remanded her to further police custody of another five days on Monday.
When a woman criminal was arrested various women organizations came together to aid of her and she got less punishment. Sometimes they say she is pressurized by her husband and in-laws sometimes say she did for to feed her family. But now our security is in danger because of these notorious women. Court must not be influenced by women organization and give her hard punishment.
