Kenya has witnessed bizarre incidences in past two days after thrilling revelations of a syndicate involved in the sale of human organs.
More shocking was the manner in which the 'easy deal' is sealed in less than an hour due to the availability of the 'goods' involved.
The foiled case which led to the arrest of two - a mortuary attendant and a man acting as the broker working for a local funeral home was only a 50,000 shillings quick deal sealed on phone.
The 'buyers' called the Kenyatta national hospital mortuary attendant asking if they would get male organs only to be told it was possible and the delivery would be done in a short while.
The organs were chopped off from a dead man preserved in the mortuary. The attendant involved confessed to the act after the arrest. The undercover deal executed by local journalists reveals a rotten society in which greed for money has led to disregard of human rights whether dead or alive. Just recently another syndicate in which albinos were being killed and body parts sold at attractive amounts was unearthed. What is a puzzle now is for how long the business has been in existence? In a another incident involving the City Council managed mogue, a deceased's family was told their late relative's missing body parts were eaten by rats and cats after raising concern that his eyes and ears were missing. No one knows the truth, it is such a shameful intrigue which has left many baffled and lost for words.
