Highway- Delhi - Hapur Road all set for widening.
At last UP Govt. wakes up for meeting challenges of coming Games.
If you are driving from Delhi to Ghaziabad or vice versa, you will be in for a pleasant surprise soon. Unlike the narrow road at the UP Gate, the widening work has started on the main road. The road is being widened to seven lanes. The police chow- ki has been demolished to make way for the expansion work.
The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) is spending Rs 4.5 crore on the extension of the main road. The Ghazipur road will be chaos free. There is maximum traffic during peak hours here.
The work has been divided into phases. In Phase-I, 400 m of the stretch will be widened. The project had been announced to streamline the traffic condition in the area.
“There was a lot of chaos here. There was fast moving traffic coming from Mayur Vihar and other parts of Delhi, which came to a standstill immediately after crossing the Ghazipur flyover. So widening the flyover was a priority,“ says GDA chief engineer, Anil Garg.
For most commuters it is good news.Every one would say “I am very happy because it was a chokepoint and it was impossible to cross it.”
Widening will be a great relief to those going towards Ghaziabad.
