'Hide the Smuts,' Say Ultra-Orthodox Jews
Israel's new government is an amalgam of secular fascists, right-wing, and Orthodox and Ultra-Orthodox parties. It also includes two female ministers: Limor Livnat and Sofa Landver, the former of Likud and the latter of the fascist Yisrael Beiteinu party of new Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman.
How very feminists of Benyamin Netanyahu. But Israel's Ultra-Orthodox community is not so keen on women. Like Islamic fundamentalists, a women for them is neither to be seen nor heard. During the election campaign, posters featuring Kadima candidate Tzipi Livni were often defaced near Orthodox communities.
And now tell me what is the difference between the following two photos (I love this game!):

Notice the two women missing in the bottom photo.
Newspapers aimed at ultra-Orthodox Jewish readers tampered with the inaugural photograph of the Cabinet, erasing ministers Limor Livnat and Sofa Landver.Ultra-Orthodox newspapers consider it immodest to print images of women.
The daily Yated Neeman digitally changed the photo, moving two male ministers into the places formerly occupied by the women.
The weekly Shaa Tova simply blacked the women out, in a photo reprinted Friday by the mainstream daily Maariv.
And they say Israel is an enlightened democracy! Israel has always been an apartheid state, but it was secular. It is now becoming more and more a fundamentalist apartheid state.
