Hezbullah: We Will Defeat Israel If Attacked

POLITICS. .

The Middle East is worried over the back-room talk that Israel is determined to attack Lebanon again. In 2006, Israel bombed Lebanon for more than a month killing over 1,200 Lebanese, mostly innocent civilians, and causing billions in infrastructure damage.

Israel always claims it is the victim subject to threats of annihilation by its Arab neighbors, but this is a Zionist propaganda lie. No nation has engaged in acts of aggression more than Israel. The only war Arabs ever started is the 1973 war. Since 1948, Israel has bombed the following Arab countries: Palestine, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Iraq, Tunisia, Sudan and in 1973 downed a Libyan civilian airliner.

In 2006 Israel cited Hezbullah's crossing of Israel's border and ambushing an Israeli jeep unit. Hezbullah did in fact do that. And between 2000-2006, Hezbullah violated Israeli sovereignty over 100 times. In the same period, Israel violated Lebanese sovereignty over 11,000 times. 11,000 times! And Israel killed far more innocent Lebanese civilians and kidnapped more Lebanese than Hezbullah did that day.

Israel was planning to attack Hezbullah for awhile in the hopes of disarming it so that if Israel attacks Iran it does not have to worry about retaliation from its northern border - and Israel just waited for a Hezbullah retaliation so that Israel can then pass that off as "aggressor" and lyingly claim that Israel is the victim engaging in self-defense.

Israel effectively lost that war since Hezbullah was not defeated and has since then greatly rearmed. With Israel more determined to attack Iran and maybe this year, the nation wants to try again at destroying Hezbullah so that Iran cannot call on it for a joint counter-attack. And Israel may not attack Lebanon in weeks or months:

A well-informed Lebanese source, who spoke on condition of anynomity, told As-Sharq al-Awsat newspaper that President Michel Sleiman and Prime Minister Saad Hariri were reportedly informed during their trips abroad – referring to Sleiman’s trips to France and the US, and Hariri’s visit to Turkey– that Israel is planning to soon attack Lebanon.

The source said that France warned Hariri in 2006 before the July War that Israel was preparing to carry out a massive operation along Lebanon’s border. Hariri immediately conveyed the message to Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, added the source.

As-Sharq al-Awsat also cited other reports in the foreign media warning against an Israeli war on Lebanon. The new attack would be similar to the Gaza offensive when the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) launched a surprise attack and destroyed Palestinian police stations in the strip last year, said the source.

He added that the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) would be Israel’s first target, especially since the LAF’s military bases’ locations are out in the open, unlike Hezbollah’s secret hideouts.

Meanwhile, Future bloc MP Ghazi Youssef told the daily that the Israeli threats are serious, adding that Tel Aviv wants to destabilize the region. “Israel’s goal is [to attack] Lebanon, not Hezbollah. The proof is that every time Lebanon has a real chance to prosper, an [Israeli] aggression [occurs]. Israel is exploiting the regional conflict with Iran,” adding that neither Hezbollah nor any other party should give Tel Aviv an excuse to launch a new war on Lebanon. (Now Lebanon)

Hezbullah was promised that if Israel attacks it will greatly change the face of the Middle East:

'The resistance (Hezbollah) is being subjected to psychological warfare, but we will defeat Israel and change the face of the Middle East in the event of a confrontation,' Nasrallah said in a speech to the Arab International Forum for Supporting the Resistance.

'I promise you ... in any coming confrontation, we will foil the aggressors' objectives, defeat the enemy, achieve a historic victory, and change the face of the region,' he said via video link to delegates at the UNESCO Palace in Beirut.

'Lebanon has abandoned the myth saying 'Lebanon's strength is in its weakness' to the more truthful 'Lebanon's strength is in the solidarity of its army, people, and resistance',' he added

Israel is only sinking in its standing and growing in its isolation. And a state like this will never be accepted in the region and it will never achieve permanence. That's why it is doomed. It is strong today, but the future holds a different fate.
