Really, well this are not the exact thoughts of Lakhi, a 13 year old maid servant who hails from Guwahati, Assam.

Lakhi used to work as a domestic help in the house of Debok Das and Poromita Das, who by the way have two kids of their own aged 4 and 6. Debok works as a manager in a BPO firm and his wife is a lab technician in a reputed hospital.

Lakhi was regularly ill-treated in this household. On receiving a complain the National Commission for Women went to rescue her and found her in a pathetic condition. She was writhing in pain and had bruises all over her body. One of her eyes was swollen and three of her teeth were broken. There were burn marks all over arms and back. Lakhi complained that she was made to stand on a hot pan on several occasions. She had head injuries as well because she was repeatedly thrashed against the wall.

All this because she did not work properly. The couple naturally denied the charges at first saying that Lakhi had fallen down the stairs, but their mobile had video recording which had footage of Lakhi doing sit-ups, holding her ears.

The couple is now behind the bars under Bonded Labor Act 1976, sections 323, 324, 325, 367, 368 and 374.

The poverty in their home town is the sole reason that such young girls venture out so far away from their own homes and are exploited by various people including the agents and employers for a meager payment. Many agencies are under the scanner for paying and exploiting these girls but there is no regulation in place to check this.

Well, the couple finally admitted to torturing poor Lakhi but the reason they gave shows that they are psychopaths. They did it to relieve the tensions of their long working hours.

Well, how would they feel if someone else relieved his tension by treating their own kids in a similar manner?
