H1N1 Virus in Jordan (3)
With the beginning of school season, worries have been raised over the spread of swine flu among students; a concern which was realised last week when two brothers tested positive for the H1N1 virus, to be followed by more cases in the same school as well as another school; the thing that forced the Jordanian ministry of health to close both schools for fear of having more cases diagnosed with the flu.

The ministry of health is expecting more cases to appear in the coming few days, considering the contact of the students with their colleagues in school, and plans have been made to contact class mates of students who have been diagnosed to have them checked up.
A law was set to close schools that register swine flu cases for one week, while kindergartens and nurseries are closed for two weeks.
But unfortunately, that is not the only problem around this time of the year, as pilgrimage time is around the corner.
An official from the Jordanian Ministry of Health reported that the ministry is expecting to receive the first batch of H1N1 virus vaccination in November this year, after referring tenders to two international companies.
Reports from the ministry assured that those in charge will make sure a sufficient amount of vaccinations are available before pilgrims leave to Mecca, in order to contain any spread of the disease in the season of pilgrimage, which could be dramatic, considering the great number of people gathering in Mecca at that time.
These announcements come at a time when the number of confirmed cases of the flu has increased over 165 since mid of June this year!
