Gunmen attack two Juarez photojournalist, one dies
Two photojournalists of El Diario de Juarez was attacked this afternoon when they were in the parking lot of a local shopping mall.

The two photographers were on a lunch break from a photojournalism course when the event occurred.
Luis Carlos Santiago Orozco, 21 years old, who was dead at the scene of the crime, was a trainee at the El Diario from the previous May, during which time several of his prints were published in the edition of the newspaper.
Just this week he had submitted the paperwork required for admission as a full-time employee given the quality of his graphic work and his desire to stay and work in the newspaper.
Carlos Manuel Colunga Sanchez, his co-worker, had only been with the newspaper a couple of weeks doing a internship, but also sought a future in the company, their colleagues said yesterday.

Colunga was seriously injured in the attack and is currently undergoing surgery.
Both Luis Carlos and Carlos Manuel spent the morning at a photography course held on the premises of El Diario, located just one block away from where they were attacked.
On November 13, 2008, Armando Rodriguez, a journalist for El Diario, was gunned down while leaving his home.
