Grown-Ups Know Better... Yeah Right
I believe that we all saw and were shocked by the video posted on youtube a while back of a toddler crawling into a busy highway.
“A toddler in Turkey is lucky to be alive after he crawled out onto a busy stretch of highway in the city of Antalya. The boy had apparently been left sleeping amidst nearby shrubs by his mother, who was unaware her son had awoken. The BBC reports that the mom was detained and questioned by police after she rescued the tot from traffic.”- huffingtonpost.com

You can watch the video here:
You know what I find shocking here? It is not the mother who left her child unsupervised to continue her "work" as a beggar, but the fact that since the toddler set foot on the street, till the end of the clip, I could count 11-12 cars passing by, this makes at least 11-12 drivers, that if we assume that all drivers were alone in the cars. So, we are talking here about at least 11-12 grown-ups passing by a toddler crawling into a highway, and none of them made the effort to stop…
This makes me think that the mother’s first biggest fault is thinking that she and her son live in a safe society where grown-ups get out of their way to help small toddlers… and well, we all know what her second biggest mistake here, I'm not excusing her from her duty as a mum here...
P.S.: To avoid any misunderstanding, I thought I'd explain that by criticising the society here, i do not mean to offend the Turkish society, as similar stories happen everywhere, and ignorant people exist all over the globe.
