The successful completion of IPL has definitely done some good to the world of cricket but if we scrutinize the small negatives on a long term scale, perhaps the consequences would not be too ethical!

The point under consideration is the advent of glamour in the world of cricket. There is no refusal to the fact that cricket was always glamorous in India but then the balance is getting disturbed. Now the motive behind the competition is shifting from quality of game to mere winning the game. The player wants to perform to be more public rather to learn the sport.

The launch of IPL has undoubtedly opened the doors of non national players and has made cricket a career worth giving a thought but hope it just doesn’t become a commercialized and cosmopolitan sport just the way education and medicine sectors have moulded
