Gist of Kabir Sahab’s Poetry
If one does not forget the Guru who is like the key, the lock within would be open in a very short time. Hence, the devotee should catch hold of the key, i.e. the Guru and open the door leading to Shabda within. Kabir says that the devotee should have no fear for he can tell him the method of opening the lock. Without love for the Guru one can not succeed in contemplation of holy form. Hence great emphasis has been laid on repetition of Holy Name. Wherever there is the Name, the Lord is there.

It has also been stated by Kabir Sahab –
Kaj kare karta nahin hove das kahave soye,
Kabir nirbandh bandh raha bandh nirbandhan hoye
(Only a man who engages in activities of the world and yet doest not consider himself as the doer of anything can be said to be true disciple. Kabir Sahab says that one who claims to be detached may be really in bondage and one who appears to be bound may be in reality free from bondage).
This requires time. It is only after struggle and strife for a considerable time that the nature of man and his way of life begin to change.
