Gaza Extremist Group Asks Al-Qaeda In Yemen To Attack Yemeni Jews
Jews living in Yemen are not Zionists, they are simply Jews who have lived there for centuries, and yet a Palestinian extremist group even more hardline than Hamas is calling on al-Qaida militants living in Yemen to attack them. Where did this information come from- this is where it gets complicated and bizarre- 'Ali Hussein', the leader of a Shi'ite guerrilla group in North Yemen who happen to hate al-Qaeda, was sent a letter by a Salafi, hardline Islamist group in the Gaza Strip called Abu Amir (who happen to hate Hamas) asking the Yemeni group to target Jewish leaders in their area. Ali Hussein even has the handwritten letters with specific names to prove it. Those letters were scanned and emailed to the Jewish newspaper Haaretz.

In another letter from Yemen, the Salafists detail their extremist views and request that Al-Qaida targets Jews, and also Hamas activists, because "the group has completed the work of the Jews by killing members of our group and we would like to deter Jews around the world through you by asking you to kill Yemenite Jews or do anything that you consider right, especially not allowing the representatives of the Hamas government to move about Yemen."
Hussein apparently received all sorts of information from this "Abu Amir" group, although how the letters wound up in his hands, as anti-al-Qaeda as he is, makes one wonder. In another letter Hussein received, it says that
.. an Al-Qaida operative in Yemen, who goes by the name of Abdullah al-Hajj, is funding the activities of the Salafis in the Gaza Strip through Egyptian sources, including the transfer of arms into the Strip for their use.
Hussein also shared with Haaretz some of the plans al-Qaeda has for Israel, though again one has to wonder how he is so privy to such information:
Hussein also claims that Al-Qaida based in Yemen is planning to set up a "military base" in the Sinai peninsula for training, stockpiling arms, acquiring long-range missiles for attacks on Israel, and carrying out raids into Israel. The same person claims that Al-Qaida is planning to launch Quds-1 type missiles from Saudi Arabia against the nuclear reactor in Dimona. The missiles are supposed to have a 150-kilometer range. According to the Shi'ite group, the missiles are being made by Al-Qaida in Iraq.
Of course, it's not for his love for Israel that Hussein shared all of this information, there were ulterior motives:
Hussein says that in contacting Haaretz the Shi'ite group seeks to draw international attention to their claims against the government of Yemen. They are demanding that the Yemeni authorities allow them to establish a political party, recognize their group as a legitimate religious group, cease persecuting them, and invest in their area without discriminating against them or preventing them from expressing their views, publishing newspapers or holding meetings.
It's certainly hard to keep up with who hates who more in the Muslim world, but hate they do. Some hate others because they practice the wrong kind of Islam,, or because they aren't hardcore enough, or they're too hard core, or who knows why. But if they can't peacefully coexist with each other, how can we expect them to coexist with non-Muslims.
